This blog is an assignment for my TELE3110 writing class.

My objective for this television blog is to keep it as a personal perspective journal following the new show on The CW: The Carrie Diaries.

The reason I chose to write about this show is because it is brand new and it is currently on the air. I liked the concept of taking a show as popular as Sex and the City was and attempting to create a prequel using the same main character but for a slightly younger audience. Because the show is new, I have no initial opinions until I watch it.

As a writer, I am interested in writing my own teenage drama television show someday so I figure analyzing a show in that category is a good place to start.

I will try to follow the show as closely as possible in order to form clear and relative opinions. I will also be conducting informal research regarding the writers, producers, actors, and origins of the show, as well as making comparisons to other shows within similar categories.

The first season has just begun, so my opinions will be fresh and responsive to what I see. Also, they may change over the course of the season as the show goes on.
