Summary
The Carrie Diaries is an American teen/young adult comedy drama television series on The CW. It is the television adaptation based on the book series written by Candace Bushnell. The television series is a prequel to Sex and the City, which features a young Carrie Bradshaw during her junior year of high school during the early 1980s as she dances between two worlds–her life at home and in school and her life in the city.
The Carrie Diaries’ Carrie Bradshaw is played by actress AnnaSophia Robb to portray the younger version of the Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw played by Sarah Jessica Parker.

Production Details
The show was formally picked up by The CW on May 11, 2012 and premiered on January 14, 2013. The production company is Warner Bros. The show is currently on the air Monday nights at 8/7 central.
The executive producers include former Gossip Girl producers Stephanie Savage, Josh Schwartz, Hart of Dixie’s Len Goldstein, as well as Candace Bushnell and director Miguel Arteta. The other producers include Gossip Girl and Gilmore Girls producer Jonathan Brody and Gossip Girl producer Amy Kaufman.
With the number of Gossip Girl producers on board, it is no wonder that the show has its hints of erotic flavor and sexual intrigue. I imagine many of these producers got together for this project shortly after or in anticipation of Gossip Girl’s farewell finale. They know New York and they are especially familiar with depicting teenage youth under its spell. With Serena and Blair off the streets, there is bound to be even more city seduction and corruption of innocence in store for Carrie and her crew.
